To know a story is to know a facet of life, & stories have always fascinated me. Whether it was creating them or hearing them, stories enriched my life & provoked me to pursue a degree in Fashion & Textile Management with a focus in Brand Management & Marketing from North Carolina State University.
At first glance, it may not seem like a management degree has much to do with storytelling. But creating a brand, advertisement, product, or maintaining one is absolutely storytelling. What we decide as marketers & managers make our audiences understand the goal- the story of the product, brand, or advert. My minor in Arts Entrepreneurship gave me the knowledge to develop thoughtful foundations for successful entrepreneurial businesses. These fields of study have allowed me to create a meaningful & lasting impression on many.
My passion for helping others drew me to a year in service through Americorps at Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. One year grew to two as I dove head first into a new aspect of storytelling: development & fundraising. Here, I could to directly help build capacity for one of many nonprofit organizations fighting to better the world.
Ideas are wonderful but are meaningless without results. Delivering results in an applied, efficient, thought-provoking way is what I strive for every day. More importantly, delivering a product that clients & consumers alike are happy with is my goal.
I tell stories. Let me tell yours.
